Croatia has officially been declared the country with the cleanest sea in Europe, according to a report published last year by the European Environment Agency. The study, which covered in part the quality of sea water in coastal areas of EU member states, showed that 99.1% of Croatian coastal locations had the highest possible rating – “excellent” – for sea water quality.
